| There are some very attractive water plants that grow like waterlilies but are not members of the genus Nymphaea. Some are free floating whilst others produce rhizomes, tubers and roots that grow in soil that is several inches, sometimes even several feet below the water’s surface. Some varieties produce flowers that appear on, or above, the waterline. All provide valuable cover and protection for fish and wildlife. Floating leaves cut down on sunlight and help prevent green water and blanket weed problems. We recommend 2/3 of your pond to be covered in floating leaves. Sold in 1 litre and 9 cm solid black pots or barerooted depending on habit of variety and speed of seasonal growth | |
